Meet Izza

No matter where I go in life, I keep finding myself back amongst the trees and rocks! My favorite part of being on the Strong In Nature team is the chance I might take you rock-climbing! My second favorite thing is Strong In Nature is a place I can be my whole self - coffee lover, survivor, Cali-kid, mom, and force of change. Supporting programs on healthy relationships and developing outdoor adventures has made me feel more confident, and I’m eager to see Strong In Nature do the same for you. If you join me for an outdoor adventure expect me to meet you wherever you’re at with possibilities for surprising yourself with what you’re capable of, and expect TONS of encouragement along the way!

Meet Jamie

While I loved working as an elementary teacher/librarian for many years, I became passionate about the health impacts of trauma on survivors of sexual violence. My own personal quest to be resilient after sexual violence merged with my desire to help others uncover their own ability to heal. When I met Izza, I knew the opportunity had finally arrived. We quickly bonded over our desire to empower survivors in the outdoors, and within the year Strong In Nature was born (with the help of so many other survivors). We, along with our team, now have the pleasure of working with organizations, school systems, and individuals from all over the country to heal and prevent sexual violence. When I’m not writing workshop plans or researching all things related to sexual health, I go hiking with my kids and daydream of visits home to the southern Appalachian mountains.

Meet Ryan

I’ve worked a million jobs and led a million lives, but have always known ultimately I am meant to help others see their feelings, bodies, and lives are worth protecting. After a chance meeting with Izza and Jamie, I quickly shifted from being an outdoor gear guy to being an advocate for men’s work in ending sexual and domestic violence. While not a survivor of sexual violence, I deeply know the impacts of body trauma and have spent over 20 years working on my own. Now I can use all that inner work to inform the programs I co-create for Strong In Nature. Whether outdoors or in a virtual meeting, I am honored to have the opportunity to not only help you grow, but to help you be Strong In Nature.

We can help. We’re healing too.

Bring your self-worth into focus

It all begins with your self-worth. It can be hard to know your boundaries or your needs if you don’t firmly feel your own worth. We can work on this together.

Expand your support system

It can be intimidating and isolating to work on your healing. Learn to be yourself in a community of people who get it.

Try something new

We want to help you uncover your potential to heal, whether it’s helping you try a new outdoor adventure or expanding your body reclamation tool kit in online workshops.
